June 11 // Sin has consequences.

Read 1 Kings 17:1 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: Have you ever grown anything in a garden or had a houseplant?

Parent Note: If you forget to water a plant, it might start to wilt. Sometimes the plant might not recover from the lack of water. God had sent a drought to the land to punish the people for turning away from Him. The drought caused the plants and animals to die, so the people had nothing to eat. God had to remind the people that there are consequences for their sin.

Pray this out loud together:

Dear God, thank You for giving me what I need.
I know that You’re a good God and that Your way is right.
Please help me to obey You and turn from sin.
In Jesus’s name, amen.
