April 4 // No need to fear.

Read Matthew 28:10 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: The first thing Jesus said to the women was “Do not be afraid.” Why would they be afraid?

Parent Note: These women saw Jesus crucified. They saw His dead body pulled down from the cross. They saw His lifeless body wrapped in cloths and put into a tomb. He was dead, and now He stood before them on the road wishing them a good morning. That’s not a normal thing to encounter, and it’s likely that people in such a situation would feel fearful. But this was Jesus, and there was nothing to fear. He had done something wonderful, and He wanted to share it with His disciples.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear Lord, thank You for casting out fear.
I know that with You in my heart, I have no reason to be afraid.
Help me to trust You when I feel scared.
We ask these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
