March 30 // Keep your mind on Jesus.

Read Matthew 26:75 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

Parent Note: Now ask if they have ever done whatever it is that they find so irritating. Sometimes, we find ourselves doing the exact thing we never could have imagined doing. This happened to Peter. He was going through a really trying time, and the only way he could think to get through it was to do something he swore he wouldn't. Like Peter, sometimes we do these things without even realizing it. Until that rooster crowed, it hadn't dawned on Peter that he had denied Jesus even once, let alone three times. This part of the story really shows how important it is to keep our minds on Jesus. He will help us get through tough times without sinning.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear Lord, thank You for forgiving me when I make mistakes.
I know that I can always turn back to You, no matter what I have done.
Help me to keep my mind on Jesus.
We ask these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
