Read Exodus 16:3 out loud with your family.
Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.
Q: Have you ever wished to be grounded?
Parent Note: No way! We wouldn't wish to be stuck inside, forced to stay away from our friends. As the Israelites saw the Egyptian army approach, they started to complain about being led away from Egypt where they were slaves. They would rather be slaves than to be free! How quickly they had forgotten that God was the one who had saved them. If He had the power to bring the plagues down on the Egyptians, He had the power to save them from this situation, too.
Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:
Dear God, thank You for providing for Your people in the desert.
I know that I can trust You to take care of me.
Please help me to be satisfied with Your plan, and not to complain.
In Jesus’s name, amen.
