Read Genesis 32:12 out loud with your family.
Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.
Q: Your parent promised to take you shopping for a new video game. Do you need to remind your parent of this promise?
Parent Note: Sometimes people forget, so there is no harm in reminding them. There is no harm in reminding God of His promises to us, but there is no need for us to do so; God never forgets His promises, and He never fails to follow through. When Jacob reminded God of His promises, the reminder was more for him than God, as it reassured Jacob that God was with him through this scary situation.
Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:
Dear God, thank You for keeping every promise.
I know that I can trust You to do what You say.
Please help me to be patient and faithful while I wait for Your promises to be fulfilled.
In Jesus’s name, amen.
