November 23 // Shield of faith.

Read Ephesians 6:16 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: Have you ever said to someone, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"? Did you believe it when you said it?

Parent Note: Just like when someone says something mean to us, it can cause serious injury only if we believe it. Our faith should be in what God says we are, and He says we are his children. He says that, through his Son, Jesus Christ, we are the light of the world, righteous, and many other wonderful things. Anything that the enemy tells us that contradicts what God says about us can be deflected with the shield of faith.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear God, thank You for protecting me.
I know that there is no battle that You can’t win.
Help me to use my faith like a shield against the world’s troubles.
In Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
