November 20 // Pieces with purpose.

Read Ephesians 6:14 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q:How hard do you think it would be to juggle chainsaws if you were wearing pants that are two sizes too big?

Parent Note: Each piece of the armor of God has a specific function, and all pieces must be worn to ensure protection. If parts of the armor are not secured, the armor may fail. When in battle, the last thing you need to worry about is whether your pants might fall off. At the heart of faith is truth. Knowing who Jesus is, what He has done for us, and what that means for us is what gives the rest of the armor power. Without the belt of truth, the armor is not secure.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear God, thank You for being the author of truth.
I know that I can trust in all of Your promises.
Help me to keep my faith in Jesus secure.
In Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
