August 21 // God's Word is trustworthy.

Read Matthew 4:7 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: If you trust someone to do something for you, do you need to double check their work?

Parent Note: No, to trust a person to do something means that you know this person can and will do it right without having to check their work. Jesus quoted Scripture saying we should not test God. When we are tempted to test God, it's not God we are unsure of, it's our faith that is uncertain.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear Lord, thank You for being trustworthy.
I know that Your Word is true, and I can always depend on Your promises.
Please teach me know Your Word and to trust You no matter what.
We ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
