Read Nehemiah 2:17-18 out loud with your family.
Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.
Q: Think about something you had to do for the first time- how was it difficult?
Parent Note: When making something we've never made before, we usually want the assistance of someone with experience or instructions. Before taking on this task, Nehemiah prepared and tested food for the king. He had never built a wall before! But, with the help of God and the Israelites still living in Jerusalem, Nehemiah knew he could do it.
Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:
God, thank You for being my Helper.
Please teach me to know Your voice so that I can obey your plans for me.
We ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
