July 16 // We should celebrate God's gifts.

Read Daniel 1:18-20 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: Name something you're good at doing. How would you feel if someone did it better than you?

Parent Note: It can be hard to deal with the knowledge that we're not the best. A good way to handle such situations is to figure out how the other person is better at whatever it is and learn from them. A bad way to handle such situations is to allow yourself to become jealous of the person and their talents.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear God, thank You for blessing me with gifts and talents.
I know that every part of me is uniquely designed by You.
Please help me to use these things to bring You honor.
We ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen
