July 28 // Comfort comes from God.

Read Jeremiah 38:12-13 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: Has someone ever cheered you up?

Parent Note: Facing death, Jeremiah was literally at a low place in his life, but God saved him and raised him from the depths of the cistern. No matter what schemes people come up with against us, God will always be there to help; knowing that can give us hope in any situation. No matter how low we feel, God can lift us back up.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear God, thank You for being my Comforter.
I know that when life gets hard, I can always turn to You.
Please help me to be comforted by Your Word when I’m hurt, scared, or sad.
We ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
