June 5 // We can honor God when we're angry.

Read 1 Samuel 17:26 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: What are some things that make you angry?

Parent Note: When David heard the Philistines and Goliath insulting the men of Israel and God, he became angry. Anger in response to this kind of taunting is appropriate. Anger is an emotion given to us by God, but we must be careful before acting on this emotion. We should always make sure that our anger is justified and our response is appropriate. To do this, we can pray and turn to Scripture for answers.

Pray this out loud together:

Dear God, thank you for Your grace.

You are good God who understands and knows every part of me.

Please help me to still honor You when I’m angry.

In Jesus’s name, amen.
