December 7 // Stand up for Jesus.

Read Acts 14:19 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: Have you ever gotten mad at someone for telling you that you were wrong about something?

Parent Note: Christians were going around proclaiming that Jesus was the Messiah, but the Jewish religious leaders didn't believe that. The religious leaders were angry because, in saying that Jesus was the Messiah, Christians were telling people that the religious leaders were wrong. These religious leaders acted on their anger by imprisoning, hurting, and even killing those who proclaimed their faith in Jesus. When someone questions our faith and whether we are right to put our trust and faith in Jesus, we should never answer with anger and violence. People who don't believe in Jesus are lost, and they need our love and support through prayer.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear God, thank You for being with me.
I know that even if people are against me, I am never alone.
Help me to be brave when I talk about my faith.
We ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
