November 2 // Shine for Jesus.

Read Matthew 5:14-16 out loud with your family.

Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.

Q: Answer this riddle: How are you like the moon?

Parent Note: The moon doesn’t shine at night because it produces its own light; it reflects the light from the sun. As Christians, we experience the love and truth of God. This is such a huge force in our lives that it shows in our words and actions. If we live our lives for Jesus and in His example, we are shining His light in this dark world full of sin and sorrow. By following Jesus, we become beacons to others struggling with sin, helping them to realize their need for Jesus.

Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:

Dear God, thank You for making me a part of Your family.
I know that You will use me to make Yourself known.
Help me to walk in Your light so that others will see You.
We ask this in Jesus’s name, Amen.
