Read Acts 8:36 out loud with your family.
Ask the following question and discuss the answer together as a family.
Q: Have you ever rolled the exact number you needed to win a game?
Parent Note: The purpose of this question is to get your child thinking about the concepts of luck, coincidence, and divine intervention. In the case of games, God may not have made sure that the students rolled the exact number they needed, but there seems to be a lot more than luck or coincidence involved in the story of Philip and the Ethiopian.
Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:
Dear God, thank You for the way You’ve planned my life.
I know that Your plan for me is much greater than any luck or coincidence.
Please help me use what You’ve given me to glorify You.
We ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
