JESUS HEALS THE PARALYZED MAN
MEMORY VERSE OF THE DAY:
“I have hidden your word in my heart so that I won’t sin against you.” - PSALM 119:10
Like Jesus healed the paralyzed man, he also heals us from our sins.
Jesus has the power to forgive our sins.
Open your bibles to today’s passage. Read it together as a family.
What does it mean to “save” someone?
Can you think of some people whose job it is to save other people? (firefighters, doctors, superheroes, etc.)
What did the paralyzed man in the story need?
How are we like the paralyzed man?
How are we forgiven?
To affirm someone is to tell them what you know to be true about them. We can see affirmation used to uplift people in Scripture. (ex: Paul’s letters to the churches; see Philemon 1:4-7).
Take this time to encourage each member of your family through affirmation.
How do you see them becoming more like Jesus? What makes you thankful for them? Share these things with one another now as a family.
Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:
Dear God, thank you for healing me from my sin
You are generous and good
Please help me to accept your forgiveness and live for You
In Jesus’ name, amen
THIS MONTH’S FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: OBEDIENCE
As a family, go through the following questions…
What are some things that can happen if you don’t obey? (getting hurt, lost, in trouble, etc.)
Why do you think God wants us to obey? (He loves us, He wants to protect us)
How can we see obedience in this story?
