A PROMISE TO ABRAM
MEMORY VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Like God promised Abram he would send him a son, He also promised to send us a Savior.
We can trust God’s plan for our lives.
Open your bibles to today’s passage. Read the story out loud.
How many children did God say Abram would have? What did He mean?
What is “faith?” Why is it important?
Read today’s memory verse out loud. Did Abram have faith in God?
What other things do people put their faith in?
Why should we put our faith in God?
To affirm someone is to tell them what you know to be true about them. We can see affirmation used to uplift people in Scripture. (ex: Paul’s letters to the churches; see Philemon 1:4-7).
Take this time to encourage each member of your family through affirmation.
How do you see them becoming more like Jesus? What makes you thankful for them? Share these things with one another now as a family.
Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:
Dear God, thank you for Your presence in my life
You are worthy of trust and praise
Please help me to trust in Your plan for my life
In Jesus’ name, amen
THIS MONTH’S FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: FAITHFULNESS
