BIBLE STORY: JESUS TEMPTED
BIBLE PASSAGE: MATTHEW 4
MEMORY VERSE OF THE DAY:
“I have hidden your word in my heart so that I won’t sin against you.” - PSALM 119:10
Jesus relied on God’s Word when he was being tempted.
God gives us power to turn away from sin.
• What does it mean to be “tempted?”
• Can you think of a time you were tempted to sin? What happened?
• Read today’s memory verse together. What does it mean to “hide words” in your heart? • How can you depend on Jesus when you are tempted to sin?
Read the following prayer out loud. Have your kids repeat after you:
Dear God, thank you for saving me
You are loving and forgiving
Please help me to turn away from sin when I am tempted In Jesus’ name, amen
THIS MONTH’S FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: FAITHFULNESS
“Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being certain of what we do not see.” - HEBREWS 11:1
As a family, go through the following questions...
• What is “faithfulness”?
• Is God faithful?
• How can we see faithfulness in today’s bible story?
